There are thousands of poor and needy who benefit directly from the many vital Qurbaani and Iftaari packages that are performed and distributed in Albania and Kosovo. It is important to remember that for these communities food is very basic and meat is a priceless and rare luxury.

During Ramadhan 2010, 4000 food parcels with a total combined value of £24,000 were distributed amongst the poor.

In the spirit of sacrifice and in order to support our Muslim brothers and sisters, four Dar-Ul-Uloom students from Leicester gave up their Ramadhan to serve the poor in these areas. They observed their fasts and led Tarawih prayers in the blistering summer heat, where temperatures would peak at 42 degrees Celsius!

We would like to thank them for this amazing gesture, and undoubtedly many people benefitted from their generosity.
